Glebe Estate House
I joined this Chiswick interior design project as the clients completed their purchase, prioritising essential works and coordinating trades so they could move in quickly. The brief centred on creating a contemporary, minimalist style home with clean lines, refined materials and a subtle Scandinavian influence.
I designed a cohesive neutral colour scheme that complemented the clients’ existing photographic art collection, provided visual consistency between rooms and ensured harmony throughout the property. I designed a comprehensive new lighting scheme for all areas of the house, sourcing high-quality contemporary downlights, decorative pendants, and wall lights, along with upgraded sockets and switches for a refined finish.
To enhance functionality and maintain a clean aesthetic, I designed bespoke joinery for the living room and master bedroom, as well as a contemporary fireplace which provides a beautiful focal point for the living room. I sourced new furniture, curtains and blinds to bring warmth and texture to the spaces.
The kitchen was refreshed with a new colour palette, upgraded handles and improved lighting.
Delighted with the results, the clients have commissioned further work, including bespoke home-office joinery for one of the bedrooms and a custom daybed for the kitchen.
"We had an excellent experience working with Luisa Barnes when we bought our new home. She was incredibly helpful in every aspect of the design process, from creating a thoughtful lighting design to designing bespoke joinery that perfectly fits our space. She also sourced furniture, accessories and beautiful new curtains and blinds, ensuring every detail was carefully considered.
Communication with her was always easy, and she consistently delivered on time, making the entire process seamless and stress free. Her expertise, professionalism, and attention to detail made a huge difference, and we highly recommend Luisa Barnes for anyone looking for a talented interior designer!"
